The crowning jewel of the Spiritual Courses offered by the Rosicrucian Fraternity is The Æth Priesthood. This course offers all that is required to lead the dedicated student to the most sublime Spiritual development possible on this Earth. Truly from "mortality to conscious Immortality."

While The Æth Priesthood is most advanced course offered by The Fraternitas Rosæ Crucis it takes the student step by step along The Path. The instruction begins with the ancient Rosy Cross teachings. However, the Rosy Cross, sublime as it is, but inaugurates the training toward the Spiritual Hierarchy. It is the secondary grade of the Secret Schools (The School of Soul Science is the first) wherein is taught a sublime philosophy, the Law of Justice, the principles underlying Compensation as relating to all activities of life, the necessity of real Manhood and Womanhood and non-interference with the rights of others. In its training, the Rosy Cross leads the gross man by degrees from the purely physical and weak man, to the verity of the spiritual. It instructs man in the process of transmutation, the acquisition of health and strength, the out lasting of thoughts of weakness and age, so that he may, by his own efforts, transmute the base and inglorious into the pure and fine-the dross into the finest gold.

This process gradually results in understanding the Illumination. Man proves to himself through this method that he possesses a Soul, and arrives ultimately at the Center where the ever living, and ever-burning fire is located. Man may thus become as the gods. In the words of Maeterlinck "What is man but a god afraid." Once this fear is eliminated, his next step is to contact the Hierarchies of the heavenly realms. He has become, through his own volition, a Rosicrucian and is henceforth a Brother (Sister) of the Order.

The final or third grade of the Great work is the exalted The Æth Priesthood. Towering above the Rosy Cross and in a sense commencing its work where that phase of spiritual labor ends, the Æth Priesthood with its centralized authority, its Secret Council, and its store of knowledge and experience, guides the Neophyte into the deeper realms of thought and practice. Herein are developed the members who become Initiates of the Exalted Third, and into whose keeping are confided the Lesser and Greater Mysteries of the Ancients. As these Aspirants prove worthy, manuscripts, whose contents are little dreamed of by the uninitiated, are placed in their hands to unlock the Mysteries of the ages. As they progress, they may, if they choose, even become ordained in the Priesthood and then labor with their Creator to bring this ancient wisdom to others. Only those may enter who are willing to lay aside self-conceit, self-opinion, biased criticism, self-judgment, self-righteousness and all other vices of smallness, and who stand ready to help all, while condemning none. To the Neophytes in the Æth Priesthood is also taught the Highest practical and universally beneficial Spiritually known to man.

Printed Lesson Units

There are over 500 printed lesson units in the complete The Æth Priesthood Course. These are sent to the student each time he returns his lesson card, but no oftener than one every other week through lesson 49 and then no oftener than once a month after that. Each lesson is to be carefully read, studied and applied to the fullest extent possible, as received. New lessons are being added regularly by authentic Initiate Masters so that a student may continue to receive lessons as long as he desires them.

Progress Reports to School

Each student is assigned a personal Master Instructor and he has the right and opportunity to not only seek the guidance in Spiritual matters, but in temporal matters as well. This he may do by reporting regularly to his instructor at the same time he sends for a new lesson. After lesson fifty the student is requested to report on his Spiritual Practices each month.

Library of Textbooks

For supplementary study and reference there is available to each student a library of many sacred instructive textbooks from the Works of Dr. R. Swinburne Clymer and other Arcane Masters. These instructive textbooks form an important part of the basic study of the entire course. They will be highly prized by any sincere student. A list of these along with specific recommendations will be sent with the first lessons.

Exercises

Throughout the instruction program there will be included from time to time Special Instructions having to do with the use of certain Sacred Mantras, Healing Practices and Systems of Breathing and Practice. The following of these Practices is most important as they help toward attaining Soul Awakening and Spiritual Development. They constitute a great part of what might be termed the laboratory work of the instructions. When The Æth Priesthood student reaches the advanced work, he is taught the Pearl of Great Price, an ancient practice to lead him to his own Illumination.

Instruction Consultation

It has been our purpose to prepare all lesson material and texts in a manner that they can be easily understood with proper study application. However, should any question arise regarding any part of the instructional material which the student does not fully understand, he is privileged to write to his appointed Personal Instructor for further explanations. It is intended, however, that this special service is not to be abused or resorted to until after the student has made every effort by himself to find the hidden meaning, through his own intuitive thinking. This very process is often actually needed for his own development. Such personal victories always bring rewarding satisfaction and inner growth that is not possible in any other way.

Classes and Seminars

Should the student reside in a locality where there are a sufficient number of interested students to warrant it–Classes and Seminars are sometimes conducted. This gives a collective opportunity to have questions discussed under the personal guidance of the Headmaster or other competent leader. These are generally enthusiastic and often productive gatherings. It should be thoroughly borne in mind that these Class gatherings are in no way a substitute for the regular individual home study program.

Several times each year, students of The Æth Priesthood are invited to special training sessions at Beverly Hall that are called Convocations. During these sessions all the students will have a chance to attend several Round Tables lead by the Supreme Grand Master and other authorized teachers with special Spiritual attainment.

Private Consultation

During Convocations, The Æth Priesthood students are granted the privilege of consulting privately and confidentially with the Supreme Grand Master regarding their Spiritual efforts and/or relative to problems of a personal nature. Sympathetic and diligent consideration will always be given to all such problems, with the object of being as helpful as possible.

Conditions For Enrollment

The requirements are not unreasonable. The Brotherhood is composed of practical men and women and its members must be possessed of logic and reason. There is neither mystery nor subterfuge as far as enrollment is concerned. It presupposes that all seekers are just and fair and that they recognize the first great Law–the Law of Compensation.
